Black Friday deal tracker: today's biggest fashion discounts

Department stores have led the way on Black Friday promotions as the annual discounting event kicks off in earnest today.

Debenhams is offering up to a half price discount on women’s designer knitwear, men’s formal shirts, lingerie and kidswear, as well as 30% off women’s shoes and boots. House of Fraser is also offering customers up to 50% off in six days of deals. John Lewis has not specified its discount but is price matching with competitors, including 25% off Whistles and Jaeger and 20% off Mint Velvet.

Amazon has the biggest promotion available today of the websites Drapers tracked, offering up to 60% off men’s premium brands and selected women’s fashion shoes.

Those offering blanket deals include AllSaints and Finery London, who are offering 30% off across the entire site. Karen Millen and Phase Eight both have 25% off, while Office, Kurt Geiger, Hobbs, Asos, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, LK Bennett and Moss Bros are all offering 20% off everything.

Sales on this year’s shopping extravaganza are likely to top £2bn, analysts predict, although a number of retailers have chosen not to discount. Jigsaw boss Peter Ruis has labelled Black Friday a “complete and utter deception” and Fat Face has also promised customers it will not slash prices in the build-up to the festive season. Missguided will not be discounting in its new Westfield store, which opened earlier this week, although the young fashion brand is offering 50% off everything online.
