Black Friday: John Lewis's app use soars

The number of shoppers using John Lewis’s app to snap up Black Friday deals on the morning of 24 November was up by 36.8% from last year.

The retailer’s busiest shopping hour on 24 November so far was between 7am and 8am, with an average of 495 units ordered per minute.

Mobile shopping also proved popular, up by 9% on last year.

John Lewis’ top seller by value was its LG Smart TV at £1,399.
