Blacks appoints former Hobbs boss to board

Blacks Leisure has appointed former Hobbs chief executive Nick Samuel as a non-executive director as part of a raft of new appointments at the outdoor business.

The group, which runs the Blacks and Millets chains, has also appointed Andrew Mallett, director at Aspire Oil Services as a non-executive director.

Claude Littner has been appointed deputy chairman.

Marc Lombardo was appointed finance director earlier this year, started in his new role last week.

Chairman David Bernstein said: "Nick and Andrew's achievements in fashion retail and turnaround situations respectively will add further depth to the Blacks Leisure senior team."

"All the appointments and the recovery strategies which have already been put in place, provide a solid foundation to enable Blacks Leisure to successfully execute its turnaround plan."
