The young fashion brand has promoted retail operations director Peter Girt, who has been with the firm for 10 years, to managing director.

Cohen will remain a non-executive director of Blue Inc. He is due to start working for a New-York based retailer early next year.

Cohen told Drapers Girt was “well suited” to the role given his experience: “Peter has been with us for 10 years and has great experience of driving the business forward.”

He added: “I’m proud of my time at Blue Inc. We’ve grown the business from 26 stores and developed a strong multichannel, multibrand company in an increasingly tough space.”

Blue Inc’s trading subsidiary A Levy was put into administration on 19 January, resulting in 76 store closures and the loss of an estimated 580 jobs. Blue Inc bought the company back that same day, saving 1,500 jobs across 160 stores.
