Blue Inc mulls IPO

Young fashion retailer Blue Inc is believed to be considering floating on the stock market.

The chain, chaired by former Marks & Spencer boss Sir Stuart Rose, has been approached by private equity firms, but management is thought to prefer a public listing, according to The Times.

In August the retailer, which snapped up five Republic stores following its fall into administration, hired Nigel Fisher, founder of womenswear chain Select, in order to drive womenswear sales at the company.

Blue Inc is the latest British retailer to consider a flotation. Young fashion online retailer could go public as early as this month and House of Fraser and Fat Face have both appointed advisers and are widely expected to list in the spring.
