Young fashion retailer Blue Inc notched up a like-for-like sales increase of 6% for the six weeks to January 4.
Blue Inc’s margin also increased against the same period last year. Blue Inc said business could have been boosted partly by the collapse of some of its rivals including The Officers Club.
Blue Inc managing director Steven Cohen said: “Young fashion has undoubtedly been less affected by general economic factors in the past few months, which has been to our advantage. Also the issues at the likes of the Officers Club may have helped us gain sales and market share.”
Officers Club collapsed into administration just before Christmas but was bought back by its chief executive Dave Charlton within days.
