Menswear supplier BMB Group is understood to have rescued shirt brand 1…Like No Other from administration.
1…Like No Other, which is best known for its unusual prints and trims on shirting, was part of manufacturer Glenaden Shirts, which fell into administration earlier this year because of falling sales in its own-label supply business.
Sources told Drapers that BMB Group had acquired the autumn 08 order book for 1…Like No Other and that it planned to deliver all its autumn orders. BMB Group is expected to retain the existing sales force and its marketing director Kevin Stone is thought to be leading the project alongside Andrew Lowden, the former managing director of Glenaden Shirts.
The duo are already thought to be developing a spring 09 collection which is likely to be unveiled to the trade within the next fortnight.
A source close to 1…Like No Other said: "BMB Group is likely to use the same product structure and fabrics suppliers. I expect them to retain the brand’s DNA."
It is unclear what will happen to the rest of Glenaden Shirts' business, which includes the Thread & Bone and Coles brands.
BMB Group was unavailable for comment.
