Bollinger’s designer label targets Bond girls

The latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, provided the inspiration for a new designer womenswear label aimed at the luxury market.

Called The Bollinger Collection, the collection of glamorous evening dresses and beachwear is backed financially by French champagne company Bollinger.

The spring 09 range has been designed by a Norwegian team headed by Norwegian designer Ylva Holby, and made in the UK by Image Studio Production, a couture studio whose clients include Marios Schwab and Vivienne Westwood.

Pieces include red carpet dresses and sophisticated swimwear. Premium fabrics, lavish hand-embroideries and embellished detailing are signature looks of the range, which is being targeted at department stores and premium boutiques.

The Bollinger Collection was launched at the Oslo in Norway premiere of Quantum of Solace on November 1.
