Boohoo boosts board with tech entrepreneur Sara Murray

Boohoo has appointed tech entrepreneur Sara Murray as a non-executive director.

She has started, grown and sold three technology companies including pharmaceutical, retail and financial services management consultancy Ninah Consulting; Inspop, which trades as online insurance marketplace; and remote health and location monitoring firm Buddi.

Ninah Consulting was sold to ZenithOptimedia, a subsidiary of Publicis Groupe in 2003 and Inspop was sold to Admiral Group in 2002.

Murray is also an executive committee director’s advisor to Travis Perkins.

“I am delighted to welcome Sara to the company,” said Peter Williams, non-executive chairman. “Her experience in founding and developing successful technology businesses will be a great asset to the board.”

She said: “Boohoo is a very exciting business and I am delighted to be joining the team at this point and contributing to the next stages of the company’s development.”
