Bottega plots second store

Cheshire lifestyle indie Bottega is to open a second store in Shrewsbury by the end of the year.

Bottega, named as one of the top 10 Inspiring Indies by Drapers last year, will open the 1,000 sq ft store – half the size of its Tarporley, Cheshire store - at 16 Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury, and will sit alongside retailers including Topshop and River Island and a host of fellow independents.

Bottega owner Samantha Brightmore said she’d been hunting for the right property in Shrewsbury for a year.

Brightmore said the new store would have a similar lifestyle offer to the Cheshire shop, which sells gifts and homeware alongside clothing, and target the same 35 to 55 year-old demographic, but aesthetically would have a “very different vibe”.

She added: “It will be more edgy and town than country like the Tarporley shop. There’ll be more casualwear and it’ll stock some different brands.”

The store, set to open before Christmas, will sell brands including Ida by Donna Ida, Maison Scotch and Victoria Beckham.
