Bread & Butter reveals autumn 13 brand list

Streetwear trade show Bread & Butter has unveiled its brand list for autumn 13 with Superdry and Scotch & Soda continuing their presence in Berlin.

There had been mounting speculation about next season’s line up after the Berlin-based event announced it would axe a number of long-term exhibitors for its autumn 13 show on January 15 to 17.

Today the event organisers have revealed that autumn 13’s brand list includes G Star, Barbour, Scotch & Soda, Superdry, Bjorn Borg, Pepe Jeans London and Boxfresh.

However the brand list is only 90% finished said show founder Karl-Heinz Müller and further brands will be added in the run up to Christmas. So far Tommy Hilfiger, Wrangler, Vans, Ben Sherman, Farah Vintage and Denham have not finalised contracts for the show, however this does not mean they will not attend said Muller.

Muller said: “[Tommy Hilfiger] in one way or the other they will be there.”

“Next season when we have 15 to 20 new brands which are better than the old brands and some old brands will leave,” Muller told Drapers. “We have to curate our fair and stay strong.”

Bread & Butter said with its latest edition it has stuck to its motto of “quality instead of quantity”.

It said: “From January 15 to 17 2013 visitors are to expect a discerning selection of leading original brands, fine new labels and interesting presentations embedded in a reloaded layout.”

There has been no further information about the layout of January’s show, which will take place Airport Berlin-Tempelhof.

  • What needs to be investigated here is how many brands were actually 'axed' and how many that were invited decided not to attend?

B&B has dug itself a hole that it will never get out of.
