Bread & Butter reveals date change

Streetwear show Bread & Butter is to change the dates for its next edition with the show running from Tuesday to Thursday instead of the usual Wednesday to Friday.

The show, which is based in Berlin, takes place at the same time as a number of other trade shows including Premium, Capsule and Seek, while Berlin Fashion Week also runs over these days. From January 2013 the show will run from Tuesday to Thursday, giving more time for people to visit Berlin Fashion Week on the Friday.

“As the international leading tradeshow, we have a responsibility towards the industry and towards Berlin”, said president Karl-Heinz Müller. “Therefore, it is our duty to counteract this situation by offering a solution.”

Müller: “I feel very comfortable with this decision, since in the last seasons one could observe the visitors increasingly becoming ‘haunted men’. I am looking forward to a strong tradeshow from Tuesday, 15th January to Thursday, 17th January 2013.”

For the spring 13 edition, which took place earlier this month, UK attendance fell by 15% as footfall dropped by almost 5%.

  • A change of start and end date is not going to change either the brands or the buyers perception that the show is tired, expensive and needs a new lease of life!!!!

  • Have to agree with the above. Tinkering with the dates isn't going to change anything - the general view from buyers and brands alike is that B&B has had it.
