Bread & Butter to return to Tempelhof this summer

Troubled trade show Bread & Butter will return to its usual location at Berlin Tempelhof from July 2 to 4, 2015.

The spring 16 show will take place earlier than usual and on different weekdays: Thursday to Sunday. The exhibition price will be lower per square metre, there will be a “design and agents” area for distribution agencies and there will be a consumer area.

During the Berlin shows this week, Bread & Butter held a small show at its head office on Münzstrasse. Back to the Streetfeatured 45 brands, most of which sell to B&B founder Karl-Heinz Müller’s own Berlin retail stores, 14oz.

Müller said he was encouraged by the positive feedback about the event. “Despite all turbulences, we were confronted with a wave of sympathy.”

Christian Graf Brockdorff, B&B’s insolvency administrator, said the Tempelhof location is still at the show’s disposal as it is protected under the insolvency.

“The renting contract with Tempelhof is still valid. A cancellation by the landlord is currently not possible due to the protection measures of the insolvency enactment. Bread & Butter still has the grounds on disposal on a long term,” he added.

Brockdorff said B&B has already raised the funds necessary for the event through investors.

  • 2nd to 4th is Thursday to Saturday.
Have the dates for Seek / Premium been decided yet? - will be interesting to see if they want to be on at the same time as BBB (as they once did to boost their footfall) or have completely different dates and hammer that final nail in....

  • The unique selling point of B&B was that they moved every couple of seasons. Barcelona worked well and then they moved back to Berlin. Now they are trying to show in Berlin again. It will fail. Wake up and take the show around Europe. Or at least a different German city. How about Glasgow, a fantastic city with lots of great exhibition space
