Bicycle retailer Brick Lane Bikes is to launch its first clothing collection for spring 16.
The BLB London range, developed by clothing company Heritage Apparel, will feature T-shirts, hoodies and tracksuit bottoms. A bigger range will follow for autumn 15 with the addition of outerwear and woven shirts.
Founder of Brick Lane Bikes Feya Buchwald said: “Heritage has developed a great collection that really captures the essence of our brand and we feel will appeal to the fashion-led aspirational customer, as well as the guys riding the fixed-wheel track bikes.”
Tim Gardiner, director at Heritage Apparel, added: “With the huge growth in cycling and the beginnings of its influence on style and fashion, we see a great opportunity to develop the BLB brand into the sports casualwear market. BLB has an unrivalled position globally in cycling. That, coupled with their heritage as one of east London’s original brands, we believe makes a compelling starting point to launch the collection.”
The agreement between Brick Lane Bikes and Heritage Apparel was arranged by licensing and brand management company Foundry Brands.
In spring 2013 Brick Lane Bikes produced a capsule menswear collection with H&M.
