Bristol Cabot Circus opens

Cabot Circus, the new £500 million scheme Bristol shopping centre scheme opens to the public today at midday.

Cabot Circus in Bristol has been eight years in the making. The 1.5 million sq ft scheme will be one of the largest shopping centres in the UK and will host 140 shops including Harvey Nichols, Awear, Cruise, Ghost, Hardy Amies, Kurt Geiger, Republic, and House of Fraser.

Bob De Barr, project director for Bristol Alliance, the development partnership between Land Securities and Hammerson, said: "The opening of Cabot Circus marks the culmination of years of preparation, involving many thousands of people, and represents the creation of an architecturally stunning new city quarter for Bristol. Bristol will become the undisputed regional shopping capital for the South West."
