Menswear label Smart Turnout is on the hunt for British manufacturers in order to aid the brand’s overseas expansion.
According to The Mail on Sunday, founder Philip Turner is also seeking funds to capitalise on the increasing interest in Smart Turnout in the Far East. Turner also hopes to open his first store in South Korea in the next year.
The company manufactures 70% of its products in Britain but Turner said the Made in Britain aspect is essential for some markets. He added: “We are looking for more British manufacturers, but our concern is that they have the capacity to meet future demand.”
This chimes with Drapers ongoing Save our Skills campaign which aims to promote and support UK manufacturing.
