British Fashion Council forms menswear committee to help grow UK menswear

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has formed its first Fashion 2012 Menswear committee as it looks to grow the profile of British menswear.

The BFC said it is looking to grow the profile of British menswear and assist the growth of British businesses, with GQ editor Dylan Jones as committee chair.

His first task will be to form a group of influential menswear figures, which will then work on a calendar of events for the forthcoming year.

Events will be held to celebrate and showcase British menswear with some events created by the BFC and others held by individual brands.

Jones will co-host the first event alongside BFC chairman Harold Tillman in Paris on January 22, where he will announce plans for British menswear in London during 2012.
