Burberry has appointed the chief executive of BSkyB to its board - the second TV hire in a year.
Jeremy Darroch has joined the board as a non-executive director with effect from February 5.
He has been chief exec at BSkyB since 2007 having joined the company as chief financial officer in 2004.
Darroch also previously served as non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Marks & Spencer.
He is the second person with a TV background to join the luxury British label in the last 12 months. A year ago the former chief executive of BBC Worldwide John Smith joined as chief operating officer.
Chairman John Peace said: “We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to the board. His experience leading a global media company combined with his tremendous digital and financial expertise will be great assets as we enter this next exciting phase of Burberry’s global growth, and as we continue to focus on delivering long term shareholder value.”
