German tailoring brand Bäumler has signed a deal to produce the Cerruti 1881 menswear collection under licence.
The five-year deal, which starts from April 1, will see the Bäumler team take charge of production and distribution.
The team will collaborate on design with the Cerruti 1881 design office. The first collection to be produced will be delivered in October 2009 for the spring 2010 cruise collection.
Men’s tailoring brand Cerruti 1881 will be Bäumler’s second licensed brand alongside Féraud. Bäumler distributes in 40 countries and reported a £47 million turnover in 2008.
Florent Perrichon, president of Cerutti 1881, said: “This deal will accelerate the renewal of the brand by combining the Cerruti 1881 image and design with the production and distribution expertise of Bäumler.”
In 2008, Cerruti 1881 had a turnover of ¤160m (£143m) across womenswear, menswear, perfumes, watches, eyewear and accessories.
