Burberry appoints first regional chief executives

Burberry has promoted Pascal Perrier and Andrew Maag to chief executives roles covering Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.

The move comes as the brand continues to expand its global reach and capitalise on international opportunities. It is the first time that chief executives have been appointed for either region.

Both men were previously presidents of their respective regions, but the new role brings with it additional responsibilities.

Perrier, who joined Burberry in 2005, will place greater focus on digital opportunities, Burberry’s new beauty division and emerging markets in South East Asia.

He will also oversee the integration of Burberry’s business in Japan following the end of the existing license in 2015.

Maag will also take on responsibilities for the new beauty division, as well as putting an emphasis on digital opportunities in developing high growth markets such as the Middle East, Russia and India.

Burberry’s chief executive Angela Ahrendts said the duo would “drive further focus, growth and innovation” in their respective markets.
