Luxury British heritage brand Burberry has promoted Sarah Manley to chief marketing officer.
Manley, previously communications director, will be responsible for all PR, marketing, communications and advertising for the business as well as media planning and buying, corporate relations, event management and copywriting.
She will report to Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts. Manley joined Burberry in 2001 senior vice president, marketing and communications in 2007. She previously worked in various marketing and PR roles at Polo Ralph Lauren and Yves Saint Laurent.
Ahrendts said: “Over the last nine years at Burberry, Sarah’s close partnership with Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative officer, and innovative evolution of the global marketing team, have been instrumental in building the brand’s brilliant marketing platform that we have recently begun to leverage. Sarah is one of the most strategic, insightful, connected marketing executives in the industry today.”
