Burberry considers new role to support Bailey

Burberry may create a new senior management role to support chief executive and chief creative officer Christopher Bailey, it has been reported.

It follows concerns from investors over disappointing trading, The Financial Times said today. Bailey is due to unveil the results of a business review alongside Burberry’s preliminary results later this month.

News of a senior executive appointment could follow, sources told the newspaper. It is unclear whether the position would be at boardroom level.
