Luxury heritage brand Burberry has teamed up with its beauty licensee Inter Parfums to launch a make up line according to reports.
Its beauty licensee, will introduce the Burberry Beauty 96-piece make up line, which draws inspiration from the brand’s iconic trench coat, from July.
“[Burberry Beauty] is completely integrated with everything else we do with the brand and with the company,” Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer told WWD. “It started because I felt that, at shows and the shoots, the whole [Burberry] attitude is epitomised through the shoes, the bags, the clothes, the accessories, but then the face was the one thing I really struggled with. When we were doing makeup, I felt like we weren’t able to get the right attitude. It was either caked-on makeup or then just the wrong colours, the wrong tones, the wrong spirit for makeup. I wanted it to be this kind of effortless elegance.”
The line will comprise natural toned eye, cheek and lip items, with pieces inspired by the Burberry trench coat - with the packaging of items reminiscent of the coat’s fabric.
The collection, which ranges in price from €18 (£16), for a lip liner to €44 (£38) for sheer foundation compact.
