Burgeoning Eveden expands head office

Lingerie brand house Eveden has invested £50,000 in a head office and warehouse expansion as it prepares for growth after strong spring 11 orders.

Eveden, which specialises in larger cup-size brands including Freya, Fauve, Fantasie, Huit and Elomi, has invested in a new warehouse in Kettering, Northamptonshire, which is 25% bigger than its previous one, to enable it to hold more stock for its lingerie and swimwear brands.

The warehouse will replace a temporary unit in Kettering which housed just swimwear. Eveden has another warehouse adjoining its head office, also in Kettering, which houses lingerie. The group has also created an open-plan layout at its head office which it said would maximise space and accommodate staff more efficiently, allowing room to add head count. The office currently accommodates 280 staff.

An Eveden spokeswoman said: “We wanted to put all operational activity into one space to streamline our production facilities. We are moving all our cutting rooms out onto the factory floor to free up the design floor. As the business grows, we need more head office staff.”

Chief executive Tracy Lewis told Drapers that trade was strong and she was optimistic for next season: “People seem optimistic about spring [11]. Swimwear is getting a great reaction, with size extensions and strong commercial ranges throughout Fantasie and Freya. Orders are up across all brands.”
