Danish womenswear brand Camilla Staerk has ceased trading with immediate effect.
The company, which was backed by Danish investor MHTP, will not deliver spring 09 collections and both its Copenhagen and London offices have shut.
A spokeswoman for the brand said: "Any retailers that placed a deposit for spring stock will be refunded."
She added that the brand was not going into administration. “This is a financial decision. All bills will be paid,” she said.
The brand had 10 UK accounts out of a total of 25 across Europe. Stockists and suppliers have been contacted and informed of the decision. The brand was sold in Scandinavia and the UK, and had been trading since 2003 when it was relaunched by financial backers MHTP.
