Retail sales in central London were up 10.8% like for like in March, according to the London Retail Consortium. The LRC said clothing and footwear benefited from the spring weather. Director Kevin Hawkins said: 'It is another good result for central London retailers. Tourism seems to be booming and this, combined with continuing strong price competition for their businesses, suggests further growth is likely.'
