Capsule acquired by Reed Exhibitions

Contemporary trade show Capsule has been acquired by events organiser Reed Exhibitions.

Capsule, which holds 12 trade shows a year in Paris, Berlin, New York and Las Vegas, was previously controlled by fashion agency BPMW. It has been reported that the deal went through in December but further details have not been revealed.

Reed Exhibitions, which runs more than 500 events across the world including design shows such as Bijorca, bought streetwear trade show Agenda in January 2013.

Deirdre Maloney, co-founder of Capsule, said: “We’ve watched the community of Capsule brands shape the fashion landscape and we’re proud to offer a boutique experience that provides the opportunity for industry relationships to flourish.”

“But as the market has grown so have we, and the time is right for us to join forces with a world class company like Reed that can help us do what we’ve always done, better. We are so impressed with Reed’s global perspective and rich experience, and we’re looking forward to working together on what is and will remain a very personal project for us.”

The three co-founders of Capsule - Maloney, Edina Sultanik and Minya Quirk - will work closely with the Reed management team.
