Carine Roitfeld resigns from French Vogue

The editor of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld has resigned after ten years at the helm of the title.

Roitfeld will leave the magazine in January and has decided to concentrate on personal projects.

According to Vogue.com, Jonathan Newhouse, chief executive of Condé Nast International said:”It is impossible to overstate Carine’s powerful contribution to Vogue and to the fields of fashion and magazine publishing. Under her direction, Vogue Paris received record levels of circulation and advertising and editorial success.”

He added:”Vogue Paris has established itself as one of the most iconic magazines in the world, with huge influence in the field of fashion and photography.”

Roitfeld is recognised in the industry for her sassy sense of personal style and directional, yet innately French, fashion choices. Her partner Christian Restoin is the founder of French label Equipment.
