Brazilian-born designer Barbara Casasola been named as the guest womenswear designer at the forthcoming edition of Italian trade show Pitti Uomo/Pitti W.
Lapo Cianchi, director of communication at show organiser Pitti Imagine, said: “We chose Barbara Casasola to be the next Pitti Women’s Guest Designer ainly because we loved her last few collections which had a clean, modern, sophisticated, yet seductive and glamorous look.
“All her work is produced in Italy and this is another reason why we are interested in her. We are convinced that she is on the verge of taking her place on the front line of international women’s fashion and that is why we offered her a platform at Pitti”.
It follows an announcement last week that the men’s and womenswear show, which will take place from January 7 to 10 in Florence, will feature Diesel Black Gold designer Andreas Melbostad as the guest menswear designer.
The Central Saint Martins’ graduate left the Paris Fashion Week schedule to make her London Fashion Week debut this September.
