Cath Kidston reviews UK store portfolio

Cath Kidston is reviewing its UK store portfolio, as it looks to relocate some stores to higher footfall locations.

The clothing, accessories and homeware retailer, known for its floral prints, is reviewing leases on a case-by-case basis as they come up for renewal, Drapers understands.

This year, it has closed its Westfield Stratford City and Bath stores. However, it is moving to the new part of Westfield London in White City and opening at Icon Outlet at the O2 in Greenwich.

Cath Kidston has 55 UK locations, including eight travel stores and two concessions.

The news comes amid a wave a high-profile departures at the business. Chief financial officer Neil Harrington left the lifestyle retailer this month, while head of buying for fashion and accessories Fiona Parker left in July.

Director of marketing Sue Chidler left the same month, after five years in the role.

In June, Drapers revealed that Cath Kidston’s chief operating officer Geert Peeters had been poached by Dr Martens.

Former chief executive of Cath Kidston Kenny Wilson is also joining the footwear brand as CEO.
