Cath Kidston sales exceed £100m

Fashion and homewares retailer Cath Kidston delivered a year of strong growth, with group sales exceeding £100m for the first time.

In the year to March 31 group sales grew by 19% to £105m as EBITDA rose 13% to £21m.

The company, which has branches in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Spain, Taiwan and Thailand, now has more stores overseas than in the UK, with 60 overseas and 58 in the UK.

Chief executive Kenny Wilson said: “This has been another year of strong growth for the Cath Kidston brand in all of our territories, coupled with significant investment in people and infrastructure to support future growth.”

He added: “In the UK, our sales increased by 21% and we opened eight stores, taking the total to 58. Overseas, we opened 25 new stores including our first stores in mainland China. Our international retail sales increased by 53%.”

The retailer is plotting further expansion, with the opening of flagship stores in London and Shanghai planned for later this year.
