The lifestyle brand will open two franchise stores in Delhi – in the Ambience Mall Gurgaon and Select Citywalk shopping centre – in early autumn, in partnership with Mumbai-based Planet Retail Holdings.

These will be followed by a store in the High Street Phoenix mall in Mumbai.

Cath Kidston plans to increase the number of shops it is has in India over the next few years.

“We do a lot of homework before we enter a new market and we already know from the growing online sales that people in India like our products. From this, we think that India could potentially become a very successful and important market for us,” said chief executive Kenny Wilson.

Cath Kidston has 226 stores worldwide, including 68 in the UK.

Cath Kidston, founder of the brand, stepped down from her role as a non-executive director at the Cath Kidston Group in June to concentrate on other business interests.
