Catwalk rebrands Guildford store

Surrey-based contemporary womenswear indie Catwalk is to re-brand its Guildford store as it relocates to larger premises next door.

Catwalk’s Guildford store, which has been open for a year, will re-brand as The Gate Boutique and move from its current 600 sq ft site to a 1000 sq ft site at the end of September.

Owner Liz Trendle said she was keen to differentiate the Guildford branch from its sister store in Godalming, which is just under five miles away.

“I have owned the Godalming store for 12 years and when I opened the Guildford store last year about half of the brands in the two stores crossed over,” she said.

“I quickly realised that the customer in Guildford wanted something different to the customer in Godalming and we increasingly focused on the smarter, more premium brands in Guildford.”

The Godalming store sells contemporary womenswear brands including Part Two, Nougat and Great Plains while the Guildford store sells premium brands including Twenty8Twelve, Bernshaw and Butter by Nadia.

“Re-branding the Guildford store means we are letting people know that it is totally different from our other store,” added Trendle.
