Shop Direct Group will launch a Christmas TV ad campaign for its Very brand on Sunday featuring celebrities Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby, as part of an £18m group-wide marketing spend.
The duo have collaborated to design an exclusive range of womenswear for Very.co.uk, the young fashion website that Shop Direct launched in June, and will star in a 40-second add for the young fashion site in the run-up to Christmas.
Shop Direct said Very’s celebrity ranges had proved to be an important part of the product mix, with sales of the category up more than 50% on last season.
Shop Direct, the UK’s largest online and home-shopping retailer with sales of about £1.7bn, has also created a 40-second TV ad for its Littlewoods brand to promote its buy now and spread payments scheme. It features the strap ‘Christmas – it’s all sorted with Littlewoods’. The ad features members of Shop Direct staff and both branded and own-label products.
Both campaigns will appear on terrestrial and satellite TV, in national press and online.
Shop Direct chief executive Mark Newton-Jones said: “The ad campaigns illustrate how we can help our customers to have a great Christmas through our manageable payment options, huge product ranges and the latest designs. This year our customers will be able to order from nearly 100,000 items as late as 8pm on December 23 for Christmas Eve delivery.”
