Work has begun on a £10m refurbishment of Milton Keynes retail destination Centre:MK, which will transform its Sunset Walk area into a new premium quarter.
Planning consent has already been granted for the refurbishment and work is due for completion by late October.
Designed by consultancy Rawls & Co, the new premium quarter will feature white marble flooring, pendant lighting and large glazed entrances.
Fashion and footwear retailers on Sunset Walk include Jigsaw, Hobbs, Joules, Phase Eight, Kurt Geiger, House of Fraser and White Stuff.
Ed Sellick, asset manager at Centre:MK owner Hermes Investment Management, said: “These works are only one part of a five-year investment programme for Centre:MK, and demonstrate our ambitious vision and commitment to maintaining the centre’s status as the region’s leading retail destination.
“Sunset Walk will be a unique destination in a destination, benefiting from the strength of Centre:MK’s footfall and regional appeal, but with a distinctive contemporary environment that complements the line-up of aspirational brands.”
Centre:MK’s leasing agents are CBRE and MMX Retail.
