Chanel group will open stores for cashmere brand Barrie and milliner Maison Michel in London’s Burlington Arcade this month, the first of five planned openings.
They will be followed by watchmaker Bell & Ross, swimwear brand Eres and a store for Chanel’s fragrances, the Evening Standard reports.
Chanel, advised by property agent Wilson McHardy, said it chose the Mayfair location because it was busy and full of history.
The fashion house rescued Scottish cashmere brand Barrie out of administration two years ago. The business employs about 175 people in Hawick in the Scottish Borders and opened its first store in Paris in July.
Chanel’s president of fashion Bruno Pavlovsky told the Standard it will recruit another 100 people in Scotland and is dedicated to developing the Barrie brand.
Italian lingerie brand La Perla is also set to open a store in the arcade.
