Chester Barrie adds casual line

Men’s tailoring brand Chester by Chester Barrie is to launch its debut casualwear range for autumn 10.

The 40-piece capsule collection will consist of jackets, shirts, trousers, knits and polos and will be “very English in feel”, according to a spokesman.

The look will be a blend of quirky English styles with inspiration ranging from Henley Regatta to a more rugged look influenced by Badminton Horse Trials.

There will be an emphasis on natural fibres and the range will include soft tailoring and more informal styling.

The range will launch to the trade in January 2010 for delivery in July.

Prices will position the range at the same level as the brand’s tailoring collection, with jackets at  £70, shirts £14 and trousers £23.

Chester Barrie re-entered the wholesale market for autumn 09. It was bought by private label supplier Prominent Europe in 2007. It had traded solely from its store on London’s Savile Row since 2006.
