Savile Row tailor Chester Barrie is to open a shop-in-shop in Harvey Nichols’ flagship store in Knightsbridge on August 1.
Located on the main menswear floor, the department offers an edited selection of the Chester Barrie autumn 13 collection.
The range in Harvey Nichols includes Handmade-in-England cashmere jackets, the peak-lapel Ebury jacket and Christopher shirts featuring a penny tab collar and a trim fit.
Established nearly 80 years ago Chester Barrie designed the first ready-to-wear suit on Savile Row. The brand now wants to take its “great tailoring experience” to Harvey Nichols, promising the “same attention to detail and commitment to quality” as the bespoke tailoring arm.
The move follows reports in Janurary that the tailor is to focus on international expansion with its sights set on opening concessions in Europe and America.
In the UK Chester Barrie has 10 shop-in-shops in House of Fraser plus a shop-in-shop in Austin Reed’s Regent Street store and its shop on Savile Row. Shirts retail at £95, suit £695, trousers £95 in HoF.
Joh Lewis also sells diffusion line Chester by Chester Barrie, with prices starting at £55 for a shirt.
