Chester Barrie to launch wholesale collection

Savile Row tailoring business Chester Barrie is returning to the wholesale market, with a ready-to-wear premium tailoring collection.

The range, which will launch at the Pitti Uomo menswear show in Florence next week, is aimed at top end department stores and premium independent retailers.

The Savile Row-inspired collection features a sharp tailored feel with soft shoulders and a longer fitted silhouette, in Super 150s and Super 180s including cashmere. Suits will wholesale from £260 and shirts at £35.

Brand director Will Palmer said: “We all know it’s tough out there but there are people looking for something different. There are 35-plus men who are looking for a beautifully tailored suit.”

Chester Barrie stopped its wholesale business three years ago. The company was bought by manufacturer Prominent Europe in 2007, from Speciality Retail Group, which runs the The Suits You menswear chain.

The new collection will also sell from Prominent Europe’s showroom in New Cavendish Street in London.
