Christmas sales rise at Joules

British lifestyle brand Joules has reported a 21.9% growth in total sales year on year for the five weeks to January 4, boosted by a “hugely popular” gifting collection and a “strong multichannel approach”.

Total retail sales at the business were up 28.1% for the period, while like-for-like sales grew by 8.2%.

Tom Joule, founder and chief executive, said: “Our success is down to knowing and engaging with our customer and giving them a strong relevant product like our Christmas gifting collection, which has proved hugely popular for both our own customers and our wholesale partners who continue to play a key role in our business.”

In the year to date, the business has seen total sales increase by 19.1% year on year, supported by a strong international growth of 45%.

Wholesale orders for spring 15 also increased by 18% on 2014.
