Christo Wiese steps away from New Look

Christo Wiese, the largest shareholder in South African investment company Brait, which owns New Look, has stepped down from his role as non-executive director at the UK retailer.

New Look said in a statement that Wiese was relinquishing the role because of “time constraints”.role

He is also stepping down as non-executive chairman of Brait South Africa Proprietary Limited, which serves as a contracted corporate advisor to Brait. 

Wiese’s son, Jacob Wiese, has also resigned as non-executive director of New Look.

Chris Seabrooke, a non-executive director of Brait, has been appointed as non-executive director of New Look.
