Chunk completes management buy-out after MD calls it a day

Managers at young fashion T-shirt brand Chunk have staged a management buy-out of the business.
Chunk managing director Pete Crispin has sold his shares in the business to sales director Martin Howard, finance director Trevor Callaghan and art director Richard Saunders. Crispin has stepped down from his role.

Crispin said the management had decided to buy the business to protect it from an earlier approach from a venture capitalist. He added: “We had a tempting offer from a private individual, but I was planning to leave the business and wanted to make sure the others were happy.”

He told Drapers he was looking to pursue new opportunities in retail and other fields. Chunk was founded in 2000 and has 150 accounts in the UK.
