Luxury footwear brand Church’s is expanding its store portfolio into Asia this year, Drapers can reveal.
A Church’s spokesman has confirmed that the shoewear brand is launching two stores in Japan in 2019.
The British footwear company, founded in 1873, currently has 14 stores in the UK, with 11 based in London.
It sells collections in Selfridges, Harrod’s, Harvey Nichols and Brown Thomas.
Church’s also has 63 stores in 15 European countries, with markets including Austria, Belgium and Germany.
Drapers can also reveal that Church’s is expanding its women’s collection, which makes up nearly 30% of its business.
The spokesman added that the brand is “going to put the attention on [its] women clients”.
Meanwhile, like-for-like sales were up 8% worldwide in the year to 31 December 2018, compared to 2017.
Like-for-like sales rose 4% in the UK in 2018, compared to the previous year, while the ecommerce business was up 80%.
Retail prices range from £395 to £1,400.
