City law firm hired to examine BHS executives

A top London law firm has been appointed to assist an inquiry into the conduct of directors at BHS in the run up to the high street retailer’s downfall.

Jones Day was appointed by FRP Advisory, a joint administrator for BHS. The firm will probe transactions involving BHS and Sir Philip Green in the run up to the sale of BHS to Retail Acquisitions for just £1 in March 2015.

The remainder of BHS’s stores are set to close next week. Primark, H&M, Next and Zara are in talks to acquire some of the units.

BHS declined to comment.
