Claire's has appointed a former Levi Strauss vice president, Kenny Wilson, as European president of the accessories business.
Wilson will report to Claire's chief executive Gene Kahn, and have responsibility for merchandising and operations in more than 900 stores across 10 countries when he joins in January. He will lead a management team based in Birmingham with pan-European responsibility.
Wilson will join after 18 years at Levi Strauss Corporation where he was most recently senior vice president commercial operations Europe.
Wilson replaces Mark Smith who will remain an advisor to senior management focusing on global initiatives and key market development strategies from February.
Kahn said: "Europe is an important contributor to Claire's revenue and profitability and represents our largest growth potential. We are pleased to add Kenny to the team, given his impressive capabilities and proven ability to develop and run a business throughout Europe.
"I am excited about the opportunity to work with Kenny, and the other members of the European senior management team, as we plan for the acceleration of the European division to make Claire's the dominant retailer of fashion accessories and costume in each of our key major markets."
