Cloggs appoints ecommerce boss

Footwear etailer Cloggs has recruited a head of ecommerce to drive more traffic to its website.

Richard Moore, former head of international at etailer Mobile Fun, has been appointed to the boardroom-level position. He replaces Jason Watkins, who was interim ecommerce and commercial director.

Moore will oversee an online marketing strategy to drive traffic to Cloggs’ website and boost customer retention.

Cloggs was bought by JD Sports Fashion in February last year. Since then JD has invested in growing Cloggs’ online business. As part of this Cloggs has just completed a rebrand of its website.

A bricks-and-mortar store also opened last December in Shrewsbury, and Cloggs previously said it aimed to open 20 stores within five years.

Cloggs managing director Chris Thomas said: “We have ambitious plans for growth and Richard’s appointment is indicative of our intentions to grow the Cloggs brand. He has an impressive CV and brings with him significant ecommerce knowledge and experience, which will help us develop the business further.”
