Coast MD to take up reins at Victoria's Secret

Coast managing director Margaret McDonald is leaving the business to join US lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret as president.

Drapers revealed last week that McDonald was leaving the occasionwear retailer, and that her plans were understood to involve relocating to the US.

It has now emerged that she will be taking on the reins at the lingerie giant’s Ohio head office.

Derek Lovelock, the former chairman of Aurora who is overseeing the move to separate out Coast from the other chains, will now step back in to oversee the retail business at Coast on a day to day basis.

He will work alongside existing deputy managing director Jo McWilliam, with no immediate plans to replace McDonald until he has assessed the needs of the newly independent management team.
