Collapsed Dolcis attracts suitors

Collapsed footwear retailer Dolcis has attracted the interest of 40 parties who are looking at either acquiring the business as a going concern, interested in snapping up some of the property or rescuing the brand name, according to administrators KPMG.

Dolcisfell into administration on Monday this week and administrators have shut down 89 of the retailer's 185 stores and continue to trade the remaining 96.

482 Dolcis staff have been made redundant, while the jobs of the remaining 644 staff have been saved and they will be paid as usual.

Joint Administrator and KPMG Restructuring Partner Brian Green said: “I am very pleased to have been contacted by a range of parties interested in acquiring Dolcis and remain hopeful of finding a buyer for this well known High Street brand.

“I’d like to thank the management and continuing employees for their ongoing efforts in trading the business as a positive solution is sought.”
