Combined Sports Direct, USC and Flannels concept store to open in Southport

A new retail and fitness destination will open in Southport at the weekend, featuring Sports Direct and its fashion fascias USC and Flannels at the same site.

The 62,450 sq ft site, which is located at the former Morrisons site on Tulketh Street, will also feature a 16,090 sq ft Everlast Fitness Club gym offering memberships that start at £5 per month.

The 26,000 sq ft Sports Direct, the 5,500 sq ft USC and the gym are set to open this weekend. Flannels will open at the end of September.

The Sports Direct store will have dedicated areas in store for Robinsons Equestrian, Dragon Carp Fishing, running specialist Sweatshop, Soccer Scene and outdoor brand Field & Trek.

The USC will sell brands including G-Star, Lacoste, Vans, Converse, Levi’s, Hilfiger Denim, DKNY and Pretty Green, while the Flannels offer will include Hugo Boss, Moschino, Stone Island, Giuseppe Zanotti, Vivienne Westwood Man, Polo Ralph Lauren, Kenzo and Boss Orange.

“We are really proud to open this new, ‘first of its kind’ shopping complex in Southport,” said a Sports Direct spokesman. “Our customers will get the biggest brands in sportswear, sports equipment and fashion under one roof.
