Christmas adverts - who does it best?

Drapers invites you to have your say on the best Christmas ad this year.

I don’t know when it first happened but for a few years now Christmas adverts have stopped being a series of moving images designed to part you with your cash and have morphed into an “event”.

Much of the blame can probably be shouldered by John Lewis, which appears to feel honour-bound to reduce the nation to tears, but this year it seems everyone has got in on the act.

If it’s not acoustic renderings of 1980s power ballads, it’s a tacit acknowledgement that we all over-indulge (but still want to look good). It’s the column-filling assumption that “mums” are the only ones who do any work in the run-up to the big day or – somewhat sinisterly – the opportunity for you to nominate friends to be hit by the “Asossin”.

Retailers spend a fortune trying to get their Christmas advert just right – but which of them got it bang on? We want our readers to vote using the poll below – results will be published before the end of the year!
